Jean Campbell is the editor of Beadwork magazine and in this capacity gets to see many wonderful beadwork projects on a regular basis. For this small but beefy little book, she has selected no less than 30 very pretty bracelets from a wide variety of published beadworkers and assembled them into a most worthwhile collection that should delight any maker of beaded jewellery. Each one is photographed in colour, and in many cases the photograph itself would be enough from which to make the bracelet, but each project also comes with detailed instructions illustrated with very clear diagrams on how to do the beadwork involved. The diagrams are simple and easy to follow, and the text includes precise instructions with a clear explanation of the techniques employed. Even a real beginner can not go wrong here.

The bracelets make use of a variety of beadwork stitches - Brick, Ladder, Loomwork, Netting, Peyote, Right angle weave, and Square stitch. There is also wirework, crochet and knotted beadwork. At the back of the book are "how to" diagrams and instructions for each of these stitches. There are also a few handy tips included, such as how to make a button/bead and clasp, and how to start a new thread. The bracelets vary in skill level from a couple of very simple single strand threaded ones, to those using bead appliqué techniques. Even the more advanced projects are made to look easy with the diagrams that show exactly how the beads are put together. I made my first bracelet from this book and found it so easy to produce a great look.
