Full Circle Videos, Tulsa, OK.
Produced by Scott Swearingen & Sandy Rhoades

ISBN 1-889988-10-3, 30 minutes.

The fourth in the series of 5 videos on beading Native American style, this video teaches how to draw the design for a medallion on to the material upon which it is beaded, then how to place the beads for each row and anchor them down correctly.

The basic technique is shown very clearly using large beads on poster board and a simple starburst design with the demonstrator showing how the centre bead is anchored and subsequent rows are formed in circles around it.
This is then repeated on a small piece of leather and card using the same simple design.

A list of supplies for this small project is given, the items shown clearly for those who are novices to beading.
How to end the thread when it gets too short, or the work is finished, plus how to add in a new thread and to thread in the ends of the finished piece, is clearly demonstrated.
The correction of mistakes is covered as well, and the advantage of selecting beads for their differing widths to assist the pattern as it is formed.
Different edgings are also demonstrated after the medallion has been finished with a felt backing.
Samples of different designs are shown including their many uses as accessories.

A brochure comes with the video to give a printed copy of the beading supplies required and instructions for the project.

This video is an ideal teaching tool for the very beginner, including children as well.
